ABF month

We invite you to explore the ABFs in our church in the month of September. Each ABF has something special to offer, but all the ABFs at Northfield Baptist Church provide a network of care, fellowship and time for study in God's Word.


Maybe you are currently settled in an ABF, looking for a different type of ABF, or have not connected at all. Take time to visit different ABFs through the month of September and find the one that is right for you!

  • Who: Engaged to longtime married couples

    Where: Ministry Center Youth Room

    Purpose: This ABF has its focus on Marriage Topics alternating with Bible book studies to help couples navigate the challenges of married life.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

    Leaders: Gary & Jan Hoffman, Tony & Kristen Fearon

  • Who: Couples with young children

    Where: Room 240 (Through the gym)

    Purpose: Couples walking through the parenting journey - from newborns through college-age - growing together and seeking God's wisdom for families.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

    Leaders: Greg Perelka, Ryan & Amy Graham

  • Who: Mixed Ages

    Where: Room 203

    Purpose: The ABF is made for individuals who are ready to walk through Bible passages and topics with much discussion, while giving attention to personal encouragement.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

  • Who: 30’s to 60’s, singles and married

    Where: Room 200 (Cafeteria)

    Purpose: A caring community of believers passionate about growing together through interactive, Biblical teaching designed to be a catalyst to build up and live out our faith.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

    Leader: Tim Balis, Jerry Jordak

  • Who: Adults - Mixed Ages

    Where: Ministry Center Front Room

    Purpose: This is a family of individuals, caring and praying for each other while encouraging and growing in God's Word.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

  • Who: 60’s & up, singles and married

    Where: Ministry Center Middle Room

    Purpose: This is a class of (mostly) senior saints, who primarily study books of the Bible. Class members have the option to participate remotely via Zoom.

    Leader: Brad Watters, Ken and Jane Vanderground

  • Who: Ladies

    Where: Room 204

    Purpose: Being enriched in the Word, this group of women grow through study, share burdens and praises, and encourage each other to reach out to others.

  • Who: Adults of Mixed Ages

    Where: Room 201

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

  • Who: College and younger singles

    Where: Room 207

    Purpose: A group of post high school singles that meet to discuss various topics and study the Bible.

    Schedule: Sundays following the worship service

    Leaders: Pastor Mark Ashley & Tim Balis

    MomCo Welcome Back Picnic

    Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m.


    If you are a returning mom to MomCo or looking for something new to encourage you through motherhood, we welcome you!


    This year we will work to "Make It Awkward" as we together reclaim the power of awkwardness and find, perhaps, awkwardness isn’t a weakness but our greatest asset!


    For the picnic, we are asking:

Fall Retreats

With the seasons changing, several Fall Retreats are right around the corner. Take a look below at what is being offered. Registration information is included, so you can take advantage of these amazing opportunities to step away for a time of growth and renewal in the Lord.

Opportunity for Men

  •             2025 Men's Retreat

    September 4-6 - Take a break, recharge & focus on Christ

    This year's speaker is Pastor Kevin Fath. The retreat is $165 per person and covers activities, meals, and housing.


    Retreat Updates:

    • Passenger Ferry Fee is included if you register during the designated registration time on Thursday Evening between 6-7:30 p.m. on the mainland. Camp Patmos will not cover parking costs or the cost to take a car across on the ferry, however you can request to have the ferry fee deducted from your original registration price upon arrival to Camp Patmos.
    • Also, if you arrive earlier or later than 6-7:30 pm then you will be responsible for paying to get on the ferry. Upon arrival to Camp Patmos you can check in and get the ferry fee deducted from the retreat price. 
    • There will be a pizza dinner provided at camp immediately after registration is over at 8 p.m.

  • Ladies Retreat at Camp Patmos

    October 3-5 - Connect, Refresh and Grow in Your Faith

    Whether you’re seeking to grow in your relationship with God, create and foster meaningful friendships, or just need a quiet escape, the Ladies Retreat at Camp Patmos is the perfect opportunity to refocus your heart and strengthen your walk with Christ.

    This year's speaker is Debbie Ashley. The retreat is $155 per person.

  • Ladies Retreats at Skyview Ranch

    Week #1 - October 3-5 - Speaker: Heather Fath

    Week #2 - October 10-12 - Speaker: Kristi Stephens

    The registration fee of $140 covers the overnight lodging, food and activities (except massages) for the weekend.

Community Bible Study

Community Bible Study will meet again at Northfield Baptist Church. The women meet Wednesday mornings beginning September 10 from 9:30-11:15. Childcare is provided. 

This year's study is an in-depth study of the Psalms, examining practical guidance on how to apply eternal truths from the Bible in everyday life. Participants will receive a course book with a commentary and home study questions. Enjoy large group teaching and small group discussions.
