Below, all of the missionaries and ministries are listed that Northfield Baptist Church supports. Here are some ideas of how you as a church member can support them.
- Be aware of their needs, prayer requests and praises provided through the prayer letters.
- Pray for our missionaries and ministries regularly.
- Send them special offerings through funds collected in the ABF groups. Requests can be sent to the Treasurer through the church office.
- Send them notes or cards of encouragement.
- Spend time with missionary families when they are in our area on furlough.
Pray for Our Missionaries
Included here is a prayer list of praises and requests for our current missionaries.
Nate and Maam Beckman in Thailand
- Pray for Nate as he travels each weekend to serve in a church in Bangkok, who is right now without a pastor. Pray for God’s wisdom for them to know how to help this struggling church during difficult situations.
- Praise the Lord for the baptism of three individuals, including their daughter, Nyah, at the end of March!
- Praise the Lord for the salvation of Mii! He had begun attending church after his wife, Art, accepted Christ.
- They are also thankful that Muu came to know the Lord. Through her witness, Nate had the opportunity to lead one of her adult sons to Christ!
Dave and Jeannie Ferguson, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Pray for Dave as he leads the pursuit of BMM’s Strategic Planning objective, Rock #3, “Expand – pioneer 5 new fields or ministries by 2030. Pray that the Lord will direct, guide and use the committee in these goals.
Steve and Beth Gault, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Pray for Steve and Beth as they continue to navigate caring for Steve’s parents and Beth’s mom, Janet Bauer. Pray for them to have wisdom in making decisions as they care for their needs.
John and Penny Jackson, Jackson Ministries
- Pray as they have opportunity to assist and disciple churches through organizing short-term missions’ trips.
- Pray for those on the Simpson College wrestling team to have open hearts to hear the message of the Gospel.
- Pray for the team traveling to Thailand from May 23-June 3 as they minister with Nate and Maam Beckman. Pray for them to have open doors of opportunity to share the Gospel. Pray also for them each to remain healthy and be challenged in their faith.
Joe and Esther Keim, Mission to Amish People (MAP)
- Praise the Lord for 302 students who gave their lives to Jesus through the SonLight Club, representing a life changed, a family and community touched, and eternity entered.
- Pray for wisdom and guidance for Joe & Esther as they raise funds to buy land and build a larger facility for the MAPs.
- Joe and Esther would like to mentor a young man for leadership in MAPs. Pray for the right person to step into this role.
- Pray for growth in the SonLight Club, the Plowman’s Academy, the online Growing in Christ Academy, and for more Amish households to be added to the Amish Voice mailing list.
Ken and Amy Lowe in Portugal
- Pray for their wisdom and discernment as they work through the transition from leading a church back into a supporting role in Samora Correia.
- Pray for their counseling situations as they work with several people facing difficult situations.
- Pray for their broader ministry as they reach out to other parts of Portugal and Europe in the area of biblical counseling.
- Our NBC team is making preparations here for the trip they will take in June to work with Ken and Amy in an English teaching ministry. Pray for Ken and Amy as they continue to make preparations in Portugal for the team’s arrival.
Bill and Becky Petite in Japan
- Praise the Lord for safety in travel, opportunity to minister in supporting churches to Japanese people, and good fellowship with supporters and friends as they complete their furlough.
- Pray for the Akita Bible Baptist Church and Billy, their son, as they work through obstacles of building a new church building.
- Pray for safety as they return to Japan, find housing, and build up the church as Pastor Hiroki prepares to be ordained.
- Please pray for Miss Fujikawa who has been faithful in attending services and Bible study but still has not believed.
Dave, Ruth Ann and Andrea Rogers, ABWE Chile
- Pray for six new believers now taking the baptism class. Pray for their faith to continue in strength.
- Pray for the Leadership Planning Meeting on Saturday to be effective in coordinating their ministry plans.
- Pray for roles to be filled for leadership on teams in various areas of their church ministry.
- As Dave and a fellow pastor meet with two families for a solution to a deep-seated conflict being experienced, pray for a peaceful resolution.
- Many unsaved dealing with various family or personal crises have visited the church regularly. Pray for hearts to be open to God’s saving work.
Josh, Rachel, Nate, Anna Stewart in Taiwan
- Continue to pray for Nate as the AVMs are still affecting him. Although he does not have to have constant supplemental oxygen, his oxygen levels continue to change with increased movement. His movement is limited, and he begins to feel uncomfortable after more than 15 minutes or standing or walking resulting in some chest pains. Pray for God to give Nate better oxygen saturation. Pray also for an encouraging follow-up appointment on Thursday.
- Praise the Lord for the decisions made at winter camp by teens for salvation or a closer walk with God. Praise the Lord also for the salvation of a man, who is a church member’s friend. We are thankful for the ways God is working in lives.
- A group of neighborhood children enjoy playing basketball with the Stewart family. Pray for this time to open into conversations about the Gospel.
- Pray for the Easter activity that they will host at the park on April 4 that many will attend with hearts open to the Gospel.
Michael and Sherri Vanek, Faith Baptist Community Church and Center
- Pray as Michael begins a discipleship group to encourage spiritual growth in the lives of four individuals. Pray each will become more serious and intentional followers of Jesus. Pray they will boldly share the gospel.
- Praise the Lord for God’s provision as He faithfully meets monthly needs.
Chris & Darcy Vergiels, Brazil with BMM
- Praise the Lord the contract for the church auditorium project has been signed! God led them to the right contracator along with a construction manager to handle purchasing and oversee the construction timeline. Construction begins May 7th with an estimate completion in June 2027.
- Praise the Lord for the growth in their church with 40 in attendance on Sunday!
- Pray for the Lord to touch hearts as many ladies have the opportunity to invite unsaved relatives to their Mother Daughter Tea on Saturday, May 9th.
- On May 22-24, the church will enjoy their Anniversary Conference celebrating 8 years since the founding of the church. Pray for the Lord to bless these special days of celebration.
Rob and Penny Whitty in Ghana Africa
Praising the Lord for:
- Strength and health as they age and deal with aging issues, though they are very healthy and extremely grateful
- The faithfulness of their entire support team – churches, individuals, and families,
- The oversight of Baptist Mid-Missions to keep them focused on serving God and using their resources well.
- New contacts to share Christ with.
- Opportunities to see the young people who grew up in the village churches come to adulthood and remain faithful.
Prayer Requests:
- College-age young adults in their churches who need to be organized and ministered to by the local church.
- Wisdom for trying to buy the additional piece of property to serve as a phys ed place and sports field for EBCS. The negotiations have stalled while they wait for the owners to decide what they will do.
- People to respond to the Gospel.
- Wisdom to see another church planted in the area around them. The prayer would be for a Ghanaian to be impacted to help plant the church.
- Future administrators for the school that God would point out the individuals and move those individual to come and join the school.
- Future expansion of the school.
- Wisdom for caring for Rob’s parents in the very near future.
- Effectiveness in the special opportunities to minister with the holiday ministry schedule.
Cameron and Kerry Woolford, Servant Leaders International
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity to share ministry during a Christian family workshop with other pastors in Costa Rica and Ecuador. Pray this shared ministry will strengthen churches, multiply leaders, reflecting unity and partnership.
- Pray that the partnership SIL shares with local churches in other countries will continue to encourage and strengthen them in faithful ministry.
- Pray for safety in travel as Cam ministers in Germay and Spain providing leadership training, strengthening ministry partnerships, and preaching.
- Pray for their daughter, Madi, and her fiance, Connor, as they prepare for their wedding day on July 17.
