Ways to Support NBC Missionaries and Ministries
Below, all of the missionaries and ministries are listed that Northfield Baptist Church supports. Here are some ideas of how you as a church member can support them.
- Be aware of their needs, prayer requests and praises provided through the prayer letters.
- Pray for our missionaries and ministries regularly.
- Send them special offerings through funds collected in the ABF groups. Requests can be sent to the Treasurer through the church office.
- Send them notes or cards of encouragement.
- Spend time with missionary families when they are in our area on furlough.
Pray for Our Missionaries
Included here is a prayer list of praises and requests for our current missionaries.
Nate and Maam Beckman in Thailand
- Praise the Lord for the salvation of Taw! Pray for his growth in the Lord and pray for Nate to have the opportunity to start a discipleship study with him in the coming months.
- Pray for Amma and for her granddaughter, Abby. Because of Abby’s desire to learn English, both have been attending church for several months and have heard the gospel many times. Amma also signed up for an evangelistic English camp that took place in October. Praise the Lord Amma made a profession of faith during the week of camp. Pray for her growth and for her to have an impact in the life of her daughter and her granddaughter.
- Continue to pray for the Beckman family and Pinklao Baptist Church.
Dave and Jeannie Ferguson, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Praise the Lord for the privilege Dave has to be a part of the Baptist Mid-Missions Strategic Planning Committee as well as continuing his responsibilities as administrator for Bibles International. New projects have been adopted, completed, gone to press, and now are in the hands of the people in their intended languages.
- Praise the Lord for the opportunities Dave has to preach, lead their Young Adults' Sunday School class, and be a part of their church's strategic planning.
- Praise the Lord for the two additions to the Ferguson clan - Elisabeth Jo to Bryan and Stacey and Callum Dean to Andrew and Emily!
- Continue to pray for their children and grandchildren who are dealing with several significant health issues.
Steve and Beth Gault, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Steve and Beth had opportunity to visit the Ivory Coast and have returned home safely. Pray for the people to have received needed encouragement and strength through their ministry.
Joe and Esther Keim, Mission to Amish People (MAP)
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity they had to celebrate their 100th board meeting in November. This year they will be celebrating 25 years of full-time ministry!
- Pray for them as they seek God’s heart for the future of Mission to Amish People and His leading. They are seeking to relocate, buy land, and build as the ministry continues to grow.
Ken and Amy Lowe in Portugal
- Pray for discernment and the ability to present the Word of God as they have opportunity to minister to many groups of people. Pray for them to effectively present the Word to help people grow in their relationship with God.
- Pray for them as they are regularly involved in teaching and preaching in several different churches each month.
- Pray as they are involved in counseling in person and by video every week. They are also training others to counsel.
- Their local church in Samora Correia continues to grow and they are getting many opportunities to disciple others.
- Pray as Ken not only meets with three pastors’ groups each month, but he is also meeting individually with pastors to help them grow and develop their ministries.
- Pray as they are preparing for a two-month furlough in the States in May and June.
Bill and Becky Petite in Japan
- Praise the Lord that although they were constantly busy and frequently sick from October through December, the Lord gave them sufficient health and grace to do His will, and they are much better now!
- Pray for the salvation of Miss Fujikawa, one of the first-time visitors to the church during the Christmas season. She has been attending services since then.
- Pray for Mrs. Chizuru Tsuchiya to confess Christ publicly. She has been attending church and Bible study for about a year.
- Pray for Akari Maruki as she begins an evangelistic Bible study that it will be fruitful.
- Pray for Pastor Hiroki Minamida and his wife, Junko, as they begin ministry at their church as the new pastor. Pray for wisdom and grace for the race before them.
Dave, Ruth Ann and Andrea Rogers, ABWE Chile
- Pray for them as they provide training and advice to two Chilean national church planters.
- Pray for administrative meetings with two churches and their pastors in anticipation of transferring the church property to those churches.
- Pray as they organize several training seminars: Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship and the Essential Missions Components course for churches and church planters.
- Pray for Andrea as she looks for housing this summer, steady employment, and needed transportation.
- Pray for their support level to increase by 4%. Currently, they are under the recommended amount.
- Pray for God’s direction regarding visits to other countries for training and encouragement of local missionaries.
Josh, Rachel, Nate, Anna Stewart in Taiwan
- Praise the Lord for the many decisions made
for Christ at winter camp! One girl, who accepted Christ, had grown up in a
Christian home but never trusted Him for herself. Praise the Lord for His work
and please pray that the decisions made will not be lightly laid aside.
- Praise the Lord for the salvation of Ian’s
parents! Ian is a deacon in their church. Their prayer had been that Ian’s
father would wake up from his coma so he could trust Christ. One day he was
awake enough for Josh to ask questions and get responses. Ian’s father trusted Christ,
and two days later Ian’s mom did! Two days after that Ian’s dad went home to be
with the Lord. They are so thankful for these decisions. Pray for the family in
their time of loss.
- Praise the Lord some men agreed to teach Sunday
School on a rotation while the Stewart family is on furlough.
- Pray for God’s wisdom, strength, love, faith
and courage for each day.
- Pray for growth and salvation of the lost.
Michael and Sherri Vanek, Faith Baptist Community Church and Center
- Praise the Lord for His perfect timing as Michael’s battery completely ran out at the right place and in the right time for him to have it replaced. The surgery was a success, and right away he was back to normal.
- Praise the Lord for the successful surgery Sherri underwent on her hip, again in God’s perfect time. She is recovering well and building strength through therapy.
- Michael and Sherri are thankful to have visited some of their supporting churches in recent months. They have been encouraged and supported through these meetings.
- Pray for them as they have lost a few of their individual supporters. Special gifts have come in to supplement their needs. Pray that their monthly support will be increased back to full support.
Chris & Darcy Vergiels, Brazil with BMM
- Praise the Lord a large gift was received for the construction of the church auditorium for Calvary Baptist. A matching gift has been set up. Pray for the needed funds to come in for the matching gift to be received.
- Praise the Lord for the growth in members at Calvary Baptist. Pray for God’s wisdom so they know how to proceed to accommodate this growth. Pray for the Lord’s Will to be done as they move forward in this project.
Rob and Penny Whitty in Ghana Africa
- Pray for Rob & Penny to have spiritual freshness – a genuine heart for God.
- Praise the Lord for good health and the needed energy to continue ministry.
- Pray for people to respond to the Gospel.
- Pray for wisdom for Penny as she administrates EBCS and for a potential replacement for her to be revealed.
- Pray for wisdom for Rob as he continues to work with the two smaller churches and does some pastoral counselling with these men. Pray for wisdom as he collaborates with Pastor Seth Antwi, pastor of the main church, Emmanuel Baptist Church.
- Pray for direction for future ministry.
- Pray for provision for the school construction project.
Cameron and Kerry Woolford, Servant Leaders International
- Pray for Cam as he continues his travels sharing the SLI ministry seeking to build more partnerships. Pray for safety in travel and for them to be able to raise up the additional support needed.
- Servant Leaders Ecuador has finalized their non-profit approval and can now begin to plan and carry out ministry recognized by the Ecuadorian Government. Pray for wisdom as they begin to open new doors to ministry throughout the country.
- Cam is currently teaching two courses: Team Ministry and Processing Life Biblically. Pray for the 86 students taking classes from Ecuador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
