Below, all of the missionaries and ministries are listed that Northfield Baptist Church supports. Here are some ideas of how you as a church member can support them.
- Be aware of their needs, prayer requests and praises provided through the prayer letters.
- Pray for our missionaries and ministries regularly.
- Send them special offerings through funds collected in the ABF groups. Requests can be sent to the Treasurer through the church office.
- Send them notes or cards of encouragement.
- Spend time with missionary families when they are in our area on furlough.
Pray for Our Missionaries
Included here is a prayer list of praises and requests for our current missionaries.
Nate and Maam Beckman in Thailand
- Praise the Lord Ben, a member of Pinklao Baptist Church, has finished preparing for pastoral ministry and has established a new church in Bangkok. Since their first church service on June 22nd, they have seen both saved and unsaved attending every week!
- Praise the Lord Pawn, invited to Pinklao by a church member, accepted the invitation which led to her accepting Christ as her Savior!
- Also visiting Pinklao, Muu was invited to do a Bible study with Maam and placed her faith in the Lord Jesus!
- Nate also had the opportunity to share Christ with Chai, who attended his Bible and English classes in the prison ministry. After Nate shared the gospel with him one on one, Chai trusted Christ.
- With their coworkers, the Scotts, leaving for furlough and Ben’s family now in Bangkok, there are gaps in the ministry at Pinklao. Pray for others in the church to be willing to serve.
- Pray also for the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia to end soon.
Dave and Jeannie Ferguson, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity Dave and Jeannie had to attend the 75th Anniversary Conference in the Dominican Republic, honoring Baptist Mid-Missions and the missionaries who began establishing churches in that country in February!
- Pray as PlayBall! is taking place this week in the Dominican Republic. Pray for the hearts of the boys and their Dominican coaches to be ready and open to hear the Gospel. Pray for solid Gospel impact at a new Playball! site. Pray that the Lord would hold back the rain clouds during the week and that He would protect all involved from health issues or injuries.
- Pray for Dave as he leads the pursuit of BMM’s Strategic Planning objective, Rock #3, “Expand – pioneer 5 new fields or ministries by 2030. Pray that the Lord will direct, guide and use the committee in these goals.
Steve and Beth Gault, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Pray for Beth and Steve Gault to have the needed wisdom, strength and stamina as they are helping their aging parents. Pray for Janet Bauer as she adjusts to her new home and seeks ways to minister there.
- Continue to pray they would keep growing in Christ and be good examples of faith, love, and hope.
John and Penny Jackson, Jackson Ministries
- Pray for the Leadership Development staff - Aaron, Heather, Kathy, Rachel, and John.
- Pray for FCA contacts with unsaved coaches and athletes.
- Pray for the soon completion of their Leadership Study Guide.
- Pray for Clayton, Jacob and Gabe - FCA student leaders; Jonathan - FCA connection with their Spanish ministries; Bella - 2024 Simpson grad as she begins nursing shcool with a vision of medical missions.
- Simpson wrestling coaches - Dylan and Jakob.
Joe and Esther Keim, Mission to Amish People (MAP)
- Pray for safety as Joe and Esther travel to churches sharing ministry updates, preaching the Word of God and spending time with pastors.
- Pray also as Joe and Esther have opportunity to minister in homes encouraging, sharing the Gospel, and helping some work through marital separation and rejection from families back home.
- Pray for God to minister to their hearts as Joe & Esther and those around them have walked through a suicide. Pray for God’s comfort and insight as Joe and Esther minister to them.
- Pray for wisdom and help in the interview process as they look to fill two key staff positions.
- Pray for God to encourage their hearts as the weight of ministry can sometimes be heavy.
Ken and Amy Lowe in Portugal
- Praise the Lord for the time of refreshment they had on their mini furlough. They are thankful to step back into ministry and excited with many opportunities before them.
- Pray for wisdom and insight as both Ken and Amy meet with various people who range from needing counsel and encouragement to needing formal counselling. Pray as Ken and Amy meet both in their home and online to help them navigate difficult situations.
- This fall and winter, Ken and Amy will be offering the course “How to Help Others”, covering topics such as the importance of the Bible in our life, how to handle difficulties, and how our beliefs impact our life. Pray for many to attend.
- Ken will be meeting with at least three different pastors’ groups the first week of each month to pray, encourage, and read a book together. Pray for the members in each group to sharpen and encourage one another.
Bill and Becky Petite in Japan
- Praise the Lord for the professions of faith made by several. Pray for them to follow their profession with baptism.
- Pray for so many who have heard the gospel and have not believed. Pray for hearts to be softened to understand their need for a Savior.
- Pray for many who have followed the Lord but have now fallen away. Pray for their hearts to be open to the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives as He draws them back to Him.
- Pray for many who are experiencing difficult health issues, specifically Pastor Tago with an incurable disease, Pasto Masago with an enlarged heart and Sue Mayo, who is awaiting a major surgery.
- Pray for safety and good health as Bill and Becky continue to travel and minister to churches and individuals throughout Japan.
Dave, Ruth Ann and Andrea Rogers, ABWE Chile
- Praise the Lord for the success of the “Essential Missions Components” seminar they had opportunity to host and lead in early May. With the purpose being to mobilize and equip local churches and their leaders in the task of global missions, the training provided further enabled the attendees to go and make disciples of all nations.
- Pray for safety in travel as Dave and Ruth Ann make a short trip to the States in June and July for training, reporting in supporting churches, and time with family.
- With unexpected medical needs and support levels low, pray for the needed funds to pay for medical expenses.
- Pray for Andrea as she seeks long-term housing after August 1.
- Pray for Pastor Pedro & Danae Palma still seeking full support after three years of deputation. Pray for safety in travel and good contacts as they seek support in the US.
- Pray for the church planting project in Isla de Maipo, led by Juan Saez and Carla. They have been under severe spiritual attacks. Pray for grace, wisdom and for unity among this tiny church group.
- Pray for Matthias Orellana as he assumes additional responsibilities while Dave and Ruth Ann are in the United States along with his present tasks. Pray for grace to adjust to the workload and for productivity in his leadership.
Josh, Rachel, Nate, Anna Stewart in Taiwan
- Praise the Lord another elderly gentleman received Jesus as his Savior at their monthly nursing home outreach!
- Before Easter, they had the opportunity to pass out 1,400 tracts. Pray that those accepting the tract will read them and be drawn to a knowledge of the truth.
- Pray for Ren’s brother that God will work in his heart, and he will realize his need for the Lord.
- Pray for safety as they travel to the States for a short furlough this summer.
Michael and Sherri Vanek, Faith Baptist Community Church and Center
- Praise the Lord for the opportunities for VBS this summer! The VBS scheduled for July faced much opposition and difficulties, but God supplied the needs, and the result of the week was the salvation of two girls!
- Praise the Lord Michael is recovering well from emergency gallbladder surgery.
- Pray as Michael begins a discipleship group to encourage spiritual growth in the lives of four individuals. Pray each will become more serious and intentional followers of Jesus. Pray they will boldly share the gospel.
- Praise the Lord for God’s provision as He faithfully meets monthly needs.
Chris & Darcy Vergiels, Brazil with BMM
- Praise the Lord for the birth of their new granddaughter, Valentine Darcy White, born on July 28 to Corrina & Steven!
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity to host a Father/Son Barbecue at Calvary Baptist. Pray for hearts to be open to the presentation of the gospel.
- Pray for Chris and Darcy as they adjust back into ministry after being on furlough in the States.
- Praise the Lord for the provision of a parsonage for the church, which also has a pool that can be used as a temporary church baptistry! Pastor Sid and Fran have moved into the house.
- Because space is now free in the church apartment from Pastor Sid and Fran’s move, they can now expand the nursery and children’s ministry. Praise the Lord the church is growing with new families and now has more space to minister to them!
- Praise the Lord for the ordination of Pastor Sid to the Gospel Ministry. The Lord was truly felt during the Ordination Service Sunday evening.
Rob and Penny Whitty in Ghana Africa
- Pray for people to come to Christ. Pray for Charles, a man who made recent profession of faith.
- Pray for believers to mature in their faith and become committed to their Christian lives.
- Pray for wisdom as they seek the Lord’s face to know if they should negotiate for land across from the school.
- Pray for the Lord to provide all that they need to finish the top floor of the primary building by August.
- Pray for strength and health for Rob and Penny.
- Pray for wisdom to get the car reliable.
- Pray for an administrator for EBCS to replace Penny.
Cameron and Kerry Woolford, Servant Leaders International
- Ethnos Missions Academy brings together young men and women from different countries and cultures to learn how God’s mission works through His church and how they are called to join in the mission. Pray as they seek to equip and mobilize the next generation of servant leaders.
- The vision of SIL is to see local churches gain both the confidence and the competence to raise up and train their own men and women for ministry and leadership. Pray as they continue to follow this vision in the United States through their partnership with Anchor Christian University. Pray for those utilizing the Servant Leaders courses to help shape and equip the next generation.
- Pray for upcoming ministry in October as Cam and Kerry preach and teach in Ohio and in Michigan, and then in November, they will be training and doing team meetings in Nicaragua.
