Below, all of the missionaries and ministries are listed that Northfield Baptist Church supports. Here are some ideas of how you as a church member can support them.
- Be aware of their needs, prayer requests and praises provided through the prayer letters.
- Pray for our missionaries and ministries regularly.
- Send them special offerings through funds collected in the ABF groups. Requests can be sent to the Treasurer through the church office.
- Send them notes or cards of encouragement.
- Spend time with missionary families when they are in our area on furlough.
Pray for Our Missionaries
Included here is a prayer list of praises and requests for our current missionaries.
Nate and Maam Beckman in Thailand
- Praise the Lord for the joy they are experiencing in seeing their church members grow, change, and understand enough to begin witnessing to their family and friends. They are sharing Christ more than ever before!
- Praise the Lord for May, who came to know Jesus as her Savior after Fon shared Christ with her! Pray for her continued growth.
- Praise the Lord for the growth in Muu’s faith after Maam had the opportunity to lead her to the Lord. Muu began witnessing to her adult son, Jack and his girlfriend. On Jack’s second visit to church, Nate was able to lead him to the Lord!
- Pray for the salvation of two sisters, Prae and Fai. Both sisters now attend Pinklao when they are not working. Fai is interested in knowing Jesus, and Prae would like to learn more first. Pray for both women to open their hearts to Jesus.
Dave and Jeannie Ferguson, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Pray for Dave as he leads the pursuit of BMM’s Strategic Planning objective, Rock #3, “Expand – pioneer 5 new fields or ministries by 2030. Pray that the Lord will direct, guide and use the committee in these goals.
Steve and Beth Gault, Baptist Mid-Missions
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity to speak at the Men’s Retreat, where the men were open, vulnerable, and transparent. Pray for God’s continued work in those who attended.
- Steve and Beth have been blessed with a new grandson! Brandon and Becca’s son has been named Gabriel James.
- Continue to pray for them as they navigate caring for aging parents. Both sets of parents are now living in assisted living facilities. Steve and Beth ask for wisdom as they learn about caring for their finances, estates, wills, etc.
- Pray as they continue to raise funds for the Pause Conference set for February 23-27. This huge event gathers their missionaries from Africa and Europe for a time of refreshment, rest, and renewal.
John and Penny Jackson, Jackson Ministries
- Pray for the Leadership Development staff - Aaron, Heather, Kathy, Rachel, and John.
- Pray for FCA contacts with unsaved coaches and athletes.
- Pray for the soon completion of their Leadership Study Guide.
- Pray for Clayton, Jacob and Gabe - FCA student leaders; Jonathan - FCA connection with their Spanish ministries; Bella - 2024 Simpson grad as she begins nursing shcool with a vision of medical missions.
- Simpson wrestling coaches - Dylan and Jakob.
Joe and Esther Keim, Mission to Amish People (MAP)
- Pray for safety as Joe and Esther travel to churches sharing ministry updates, preaching the Word of God and spending time with pastors.
- Pray also as Joe and Esther have opportunity to minister in homes encouraging, sharing the Gospel, and helping some work through marital separation and rejection from families back home.
- Pray for wisdom and help in the interview process as they look to fill two key staff positions.
- Pray for God to encourage their hearts as the weight of ministry can sometimes be heavy.
Ken and Amy Lowe in Portugal
- Pray for Ken as he hosts two groups of pastors the first week of the month. Pray for each pastor to be encouraged as they meet together and sharpen one another.
- Pray as Ken has taken charge of a church as interim pastor while the church’s pastor takes a needed sabbatical.
- Pray for both Ken and Amy as the counseling load for both of them has increased. Pray for wisdom as they help many who are hurting and seeking help. Pray also for discernment in very delicate situations.
Bill and Becky Petite in Japan
- Praise the Lord for the professions of faith made by several. Pray for them to follow their profession with baptism.
- Pray for so many who have heard the gospel and have not believed. Pray for hearts to be softened to understand their need for a Savior.
- Pray for many who have followed the Lord but have now fallen away. Pray for their hearts to be open to the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives as He draws them back to Him.
- Pray for many who are experiencing difficult health issues, specifically Pastor Tago with an incurable disease, Pasto Masago with an enlarged heart and Sue Mayo, who is awaiting a major surgery.
- Pray for safety and good health as Bill and Becky continue to travel and minister to churches and individuals throughout Japan.
Dave, Ruth Ann and Andrea Rogers, ABWE Chile
- Pray for their monthly support deficit. They are under supported by $802 per month.
- Pray for health issues they are both facing. Dave is having tests done to ascertain the status of some elevated numbers.
- Pray for Andrea to find a part-time job in Lancaster, PA. She needs to cover the 25% cost of her living arrangements with her roommates.
- Pray for encouragement and sharpening as pastors and full-time ministry workers who are meeting monthly to pray. Many are facing personal issues, health concerns and family burdens. Pray they would all make this prayer time a priority.
- Pray for wisdom and Spirit-led guidance as they assume the interim pastoral role of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Josh, Rachel, Nate, Anna Stewart in Taiwan
- Praise the Lord for a good furlough, good return flights to Taiwan, and a fairly quick readjustment to life in Taiwan.
- Praise the Lord a lady trusted Christ as her Savior their first Sunday back!
- Pray for Ethan to keep his eyes on the Lord during college.
- Pray for a couple, who just had a baby, to keep God first in their lives personally and as a couple and to be godly parents.
- Pray for many they have contact with who do not yet know our Savior that they will turn to Him.
- Pray for strength for the next few months with Christmas, New Years and winter camp.
Michael and Sherri Vanek, Faith Baptist Community Church and Center
- Pray as Michael begins a discipleship group to encourage spiritual growth in the lives of four individuals. Pray each will become more serious and intentional followers of Jesus. Pray they will boldly share the gospel.
- Praise the Lord for God’s provision as He faithfully meets monthly needs.
Chris & Darcy Vergiels, Brazil with BMM
- Praise the Lord for a conference at the church with Nathan and Rebecca Fray, ministering to the people of Calvary Baptist. Pray for the fruit from the conference to remain and pray the Lord will meet the greatest spiritual needs in the lives of their own people.
- Pray for members of their church family who are experiencing real persecution from family members. Pray for God to minister to their needs and sustain them.
- Pray for the Lord’s guidance as they select a contractor for the construction of their church auditorium. Pray for Chris and Darcy, along with the church family, to be patient with the process and await God’s timing in the entire project.
- Praise the Lord for the birth of Luke Owen Vergiels to Stephen and Tabby on October 31! Both mom and baby are doing well.
Rob and Penny Whitty in Ghana Africa
Praising the Lord for:
- Strength and health as they age and deal with aging issues, though they are very healthy and extremely grateful
- The faithfulness of their entire support team – churches, individuals, and families
- The oversight of Baptist Mid-Missions to keep them focused on serving God and using their resources well
- New contacts to share Christ with
- Opportunities to see the young people who grew up in the village churches come to adulthood and remain faithful
Prayer Requests:
- College-age young adults in their churches who need to be organized and ministered to by the local church
- Wisdom for trying to buy the additional piece of property to serve as a phys ed place and sports field for EBCS. The negotiations have stalled while they wait for the owners to decide what they will do
- People to respond to the Gospel
- Wisdom to see another church planted in the area around them. The prayer would be for a Ghanaian to be impacted to help plant the church
- Future administrators for the school that God would point out the individuals and move those individual to come and join the school
- Future expansion of the school
- Wisdom for caring for Rob’s parents in the very near future
- Effectiveness in the special opportunities to minister with the holiday ministry schedule
Cameron and Kerry Woolford, Servant Leaders International
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity Cam had to participate in training in the town of Jinotega. Though the people live with scarcity, limitations and overwhelming obstacles in Nicaragua, he found their passion to be a reminder that the gospel is never limited by struggle or economies; it flourishes wherever God’s people are willing to give themselves fully to His mission.
- Pray for their current interns and residents in Nicaragua as they prepare to step into life and ministry roles, asking God to strengthen their character, clarify their calling, and provide the support they need as they go.
- Pray for God’s financial provision for David and Paula Soto as they raise support.
- Pray for wisdom as they plan a new church plant, asking God to guide them to the right location, the right timing, and the right team so that the gospel takes deep root in the community He is preparing.
- Pray for fruit from the missions training in November that those who expressed interest will further their education and explore their call.
